Achill hosts two main events in July and August. The Achill Island Seafood festival takes place in July and August in Scoil Acla Summer School, the oldest summer school in Ireland of Traditional Music and The Arts. Scoil Acla caters for the Beginner to the Advanced Learner in a large number of traditional musical instuments and pipe. A number of Sea Angling competitions and Shark Safari's are held in July and August. Outdoor pursuits; Windsurfing and all other water sports are catered for in two centres, Hill Walking is the finest you will get in Ireland.
